Terms of Use

Last updated: 1 October 2026

These terms apply to the Quino app and the website joinquino.com. Please read them: by using Quino you agree to them. How we handle your data is in our Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

Quino is a private project based in the Netherlands. Who is responsible is stated in the Privacy Policy, section 15. "We" or "Quino" in these terms means that person. You can reach us at hello@joinquino.com.

2. What Quino does

With Quino you choose, together or alone, a time and a place to eat or drink. Quino picks a place that fits your wishes and is open at that time. You can invite friends, also if they have no account.

Quino is free. You pay nothing and there are no purchases in the app. You book with the restaurant itself (see article 8).

3. Age and agreement

Quino is for people aged 16 and over. When you create an account you confirm with one required tick: "I am 16 or older and agree to the terms and the privacy policy." We store the date and time. If you are younger than 16, do not use Quino. If we find an account of someone under 16, we delete it.

4. Your account

  • You make one account for yourself, with your own email address, Apple ID or Google account.
  • Use a name your friends recognise. Do not pretend to be someone else.
  • Keep your sign-in details and codes to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account. If you think someone else uses it, email us straight away.

5. No objectionable content or abuse

Quino is for making nice plans. We do not tolerate objectionable content, or users who harass others or abuse Quino. This applies to everything you put into Quino: your name, profile photo, plan titles, your name as a guest and the text you write in reports. It is not allowed to:

  • harass, threaten, bully or discriminate against others, or spread hate against people because of, for example, origin, faith, gender, sexual orientation or disability;
  • post sexual, violent, insulting or otherwise objectionable content;
  • send spam, or use invitations and friend requests to keep contacting people who do not want that;
  • pretend to be someone else, or create fake accounts or fake guests;
  • scrape or copy Quino (for example the list of places), bypass limits, or test or bypass security;
  • use Quino for anything the law does not allow.

More detail is in our Community Guidelines.

6. Reporting and blocking

See something that is wrong or feels wrong? In the app you can report and block a person, from their profile or from a plan. Someone you block can no longer send you friend requests or add you to plans. You manage blocks in Settings. Report a place with Report place. You can always email hello@joinquino.com.

We aim to look at every report within 24 hours. If someone breaks these terms we can remove content, warn the person, or suspend or delete the account, without warning first. For serious or repeated breaches we delete the account. If something may be a criminal offence we can involve the police. The person you report is not told that you reported them. If we remove content or suspend an account we tell the person briefly why and how they can object.

7. Plans, invitations and limits

  • An invitation link works for everyone who has it. Share it only with people you want to invite. As organiser you can remove people from a plan.
  • To keep Quino fair and safe there are limits, for example a maximum number of plans per day, at most 3 open plans (plans you organise that have no place yet) and at most 12 people per plan. We can change these limits.
  • If the organiser cancels a plan, it disappears for everyone and the others get a message.

8. Places, information and booking

Information about places (such as address, opening hours, price level, photos and dietary labels) comes from public sources, including Google, from our own checks, and from the places themselves. We try to keep it correct, but places change and information can be out of date or wrong. A place can, for example, be closed unexpectedly.

Do you have a dietary requirement or an allergy? Always check with the restaurant. We show a halal label only if the restaurant confirms it, but we do not check what happens in the kitchen.

You book with the restaurant or its booking partner. Quino is not a party to that booking. Agreements about the booking, such as fees for not showing up, you make with the restaurant. We can add, change or remove places.

9. What is yours and what is ours

Quino, the logo, the design and the software are ours. You may use the app for your own, non-commercial use. What you put in Quino yourself, such as your name and profile photo, stays yours. You allow us to show it in Quino to the people it is meant for, for as long as you do not delete it.

10. Availability

We do our best to keep Quino working, but we cannot promise it always works without errors or interruptions. We may change Quino, add or remove features, or stop (part of) Quino. If we stop Quino, we will tell you in good time.

11. Liability

Quino is free and provided as it is. To the extent Dutch law allows, we are not liable for damage from using Quino, such as damage from wrong information about a place, a closed restaurant, a booking that falls through, or what happens at a meeting with others. We are never liable for indirect damage. This does not apply if the damage results from our intent or deliberate recklessness, and it does not limit the rights you have as a consumer by law.

12. Stopping

You can stop at any time by deleting your account: in the app under Settings → Delete account, or with the form at joinquino.com/delete-account. What happens to your data is in the Privacy Policy. We can suspend or delete your account if you break these terms (see article 6).

13. Apple

If you got Quino from the App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Quino, its content or support. Apple's rules for using the App Store also apply. Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms against you.

14. Changes

We may change these terms, for example if Quino changes. The date at the top shows the last change. For important changes we tell you in the app beforehand. If you use Quino after that, the new version applies. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.

15. Applicable law

Dutch law applies to these terms. If we cannot resolve a dispute together, it goes to the competent court in the Netherlands. As a consumer you may also go to the court where you live. If a part of these terms is invalid, the rest still applies.

16. Contact
